We have not had a look at either track since August.
Tulie generally runs the same weekend of the month as TNT normally schedules and we have run Tulie for the last 3 years.
This year, Midland's weekend has been the same as that new track at Portales, NM. Dixon MX is running a six race winter series this first year of operation. The owners are doing a great job and have been pulling about 200 bikes per race. The track layout there is really neat and the soil at Dixon is freakin' awesome!

i've heard a lot of good things about Dixon MX. i'm trying to arrange it so that i can race there the first weekend in december.

They also do a practice on the Saturday before Sunday race days. It is usually scheduled for 8am to noon.
The last race weekend, when noon rolled around, the owners decided to keep practice open another two hours because "the track is perfect today and we don't want to waste it." It was rough and there were 3 to 6 lines in every corner. It was great!
How many people would do that? Put off their track prep for the next day's race and make their night two hours later just because they didn't want riders to miss out on such epic conditions. Only people who are truly dedicated to the sport.
Try hard to twist your schedule. You will LOVE this track. Cade says it is in his All-Time Top 3 favorite tracks with Tulie and Panther Creek.

sounds like a good track and sounds like the owners are really energetic. i think i'm going to be able to make that race...we'll see though.
by the way, glad to hear PCMX made the top three!

We sure hope we can see you there next weekend.
Oh, and Cade doesn't really rank them. He just throws the names of tracks out in conversations as to what his favorites are. As I said, Tulie, PCMX, and Dixon are the ones that get mentioned in the favorites list.

Kasberg, hope you are making plans. This looks to be a great weekend to ride, weather-wise.
Highs should be about 60 on Saturday for practice should be about 65 on Sunday for the race.
By the way, practice has been moved to a little later in the day, 11am to 3pm, Texas time. The race is still the same schedule. Signup closes at 9am and first gate should be around 10:15am, Texas time. They work up race order during practice, then open up for late signups once the race order is posted.
According to the posts in the New Mexico Motocross Forum, there looks to be a pretty large contingent of El Paso, Alamogordo, and Albuquerque riders coming this weekend since there are not any conflicting races in the region. Who knows? They may have 250-300 bikes this weekend.

I've been making plans, but they aren't the ones I wanted to make.
Next week is finals week for me. How this slipped my mind, I have no idea....maybe I should pay more attention to school. Anyway, I've got papers due Monday, a final Tuesday and another two finals on Wednesday. There's no way I'm going to be able to make this weekend.
HOWEVER, after Wednesday, I'm done for the year! That means I'm heading out west Thursday or Friday and am planning on spending 3-5 days out there. So, I'm going to try to at least ride the track even though I wish I were racing it.

If you weren't there, you missed a great day of racing.
There had to be 250 bikes or more, but still waiting to hear the official number.
Weather was cooperative and the competition was fierce in all the motos. Can't ask for more than that.
