what's the pro's and con's of a grass-covered track?

i know unadilla does all grass and some other places do too.

some people freak out when they don't see tilled soil, but grass can be just as tacky (if it's short) and maintains moisture way longer. to me, it looks cooler than a tilled track too. nothing better than dark ruts in green grass. must be the golf course dream...

Grass tracks are usually really slick. Even when the grass is short if it is green it makes for poor tracktion. On the other hand it would make for a excellent all out frame railin, corner parking Rally car track. When you hitting the auction and getting yours....

this morning i thought i had already done it. then i woke up from the dream.

i was at some impound area, like what i imagine your friend has, with a couple of buddies. we were running from someone, so i decided to take a vehicle. they all the keys in them. i passed all the big, late model pickups, the 4x4's, the 4-door diesels, and the sports cars. i found a hoopty in the back, a very compact 2-door something, and i took it. it had an 8-speed, 4 on the bottom and 4 on the top, with a huge shifter. i was so excited about it.

i need to get to one of those auctions.

and i agree...green grass = maximum hoopty-racing carnage.

wonder if the end result would be the same as the grassy knoll? ( I know...bad humor!)
