Wasn't this tried a couple of years ago with a North vs South format? How'd that fare?
Unless Whitney, Swan, Freestone, Oakhill, you get the idea, the "big name" tracks are involved, how's it gunna be any different than the current issue we have with riders avoiding certain tracks and promoters, just like we see in another thread? Just curious as to what would entice riders to put all that aside, when they've never done it before?
Sure would like to see an event like that go off, and be successful, however. I think it's an interesting format, and unique from the normal series' we see....
I'd like to see a one year race series, 12 different tracks all over texas, one race a month with a championship race at the end.

that'd be awesome...but there would be hardly anyone following the entire thing. texas is a big state. i just don't see anyone from tyler traveling 8 hours to lubbock.Originally Posted by DonkeyPunch

Something like that would be awesome. When the Texas series was pretty much the only series around it was like that and people would drive it (dfw to Austin to Tyler to Houston). But if not one series there could be regions set up 12 rounds w Dfw ,12 e Dfw, 12 Houston, 12 Austin, 12 west Texas top 8 from each meet up at freestone (or another central track) for final shoot out. pretty much every track could be involved.Originally Posted by Kasberg187

I would drive it. but good luck getting the promoters together... like herding cats or pushing a rope.
How about someone writing the articles and submitting them to Cycle News.... people love to get some recognition
WHAT IF?
What if riders from the TXmotocross.com and Houstonmotocross.com get together and tell the promoters of their favorite tracks when and where they want the series to be.
We can name it so no one track owner / promoter has a monopoly on it and change the locations annually so that it is fair for all competitors and travel needs.

and the hooters girls could be at every round handing out free beer and wings!
no wait, i've got it.
instead of the promoters doing this - every racing family pitches in $150 per round. then, that pooled money is used to rent out each track for whichever days the families agree upon. then, the actual moto community gets to decide when, where, how to prep, prizes, rules, and EVERYTHING!
NO MORE CONFLICTS! a series for the racers...by the racers...
ah, utopia.![]()
