    Fry's, get a decent all-in-one system.

Yup, you'll be calling him yourAVhero24. Especially if you want to do a really trick custom installation.

Me, I'm frugal so I got the appropriate $6 cable from Radio Shack (closer than Fry's) so I could hook up my fairly nice computer speakers.

Only stereo, and the TV remote doesn't change the volume, but sound is WAY better than the TV's built in stereo speakers.

I've been looking off and on for a multi-input AV receiver/mixer with remote or better yet that would work with my TV remote.

If you already have surround sound computer speakers and don't use them with your computer much, there you go.

That and check out their open box deals. Stay away from Bose, way over priced for the sound you get. You can find a lot better sound for less money. It's kind of like a camera, spend a decent amount on the stereo, but put the money in the speakers...

As long as you have a 1 story house, or on the top floor of a 2 story putting in surround and wall mounting a TV with hidden cables is easy. Especially running new power, if you are on the bottom floor of a 2 story speakers won't be as easy, but power and cables still are.

way better, way smaller and better sounding for surround sound than most conventional - on price why do you think I said check craigslist - if you've never had a set - especially the newer technology then take your set to the bose store and they will do a side by side comparison for you

I went back to my old shit (good) after the house got broke into and there is no comparison

That's a loaded question....how much do you want to pay?

I did a ton of research and ended up with Outlaw Audio. I have some back ground in the audio area as I once worked at JBL in the engineering dept and designed competition car audio systems way back in the day. So I say Bang for the buck OUTLAW AUDIO is the best product / processor in the market that I found.

As far as sound, don't let anyone tell you anything. Speaker choice is a personal thing, DO NOT LET ANYONE TELL YOU this is the best sounding XYZ...Use your ears. Just know good sounding cheap speakers probably won't last as long as the magnet and voice coil is lighter so it won't take as much abuse.

Like a set of handle bars everyone's ears are different so just go by what sounds good to you.

If your going to crank your system don't skimp on the amplifier! It's not the speakers that sound like crap when cranked, usually it's the amplifier clipping or like moto basically the engine pegging off the rev-limiter thus performance is heard not felt.

No I do not work for the company just a very satisfied customer.

I have the Model 990 Preamp/Processor and Model 7200 7-channel Amplifier and would recommend it to anyone.

Oh yeah they have a forum on there with some pretty knowledgeable people who help answer questions like the one you have.

    Good Luck
