Painting of the engine isn't really a good thing, the layers of paint will not let the heat leave the motor near as easy.

I thought polishing was the worst you could do to try and keep the engine cool.
It is it will hold the heat in even more just like chrome does. That is why they do not chrome alternators anymore because they would get so hot. Heat means less efficient.Originally Posted by blankplate
