So I was changing oil today and I guess somehow I stripped the drain plug because when I screwed it back in, it wouldn't tighten. Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix this?

Fixed a few stripped oil drain plugs with timeserts…
Biggest issue – drill the hole perfectly straight
Next biggest issue – keep the metal shavings out of your motor
(by coating your drill bit, and tap with grease…, stuffing a small rag, coated with grease, in the drain hole (that you can later pull out with needle nose / forceps…) and even think about using a shop vac, while your drilling, to suck up the shavings)
You can flush the motor afterwards, but I personally don't like that idea (better to keep the shavings out altogether imo
Be sure to countersink as far as the countersink bit will go... and use lock tight on the insert (even though the last few threads are designed to lock it in
After the fix, it'll be better than new
Btw – The aluminum is soft enough, a drill is not required, just use a tap handle

In a pinch I've used an oversized oil drain repair plug. They can be purchased at auto parts stores for a couple of bucks. They cut their own slightly oversized threads, so don't forget to flush the aluminum out of your transmission/motor before buttoning it up.
