Default A great friend in need...

As some of you may know, Russ Erbe's (russerbe) wife, Kim, was diagnosed with cancer last February... Valentine's day to be exact. She has been undergoing radiation and chemo treatments almost non-stop since then. It's been a tough time for them as the treatments have taken a toll on Kim's body. Some progress has been made based on recent scans, so that is great news. She just completed a round of chemo that was somewhat experimental in hopes of knocking the cancer out completely. She goes in today for a PET scan to see where things stand.

Please send positive thoughts and if you are so inclined some heart felt prayers for the Erbe family. This has been quite a struggle for them. This horrible disease puts a tremendous burden on the person afflicted and everyone around them... They can most certainly use some positives right now... as I told Kim the other day, it's their time for a Christmas Miracle and that I fully expect good news from her PET scan today.

A great friend of mine and the Erbe's (Chris Harp) set up a website for donations for them as this ordeal has hit them hard financially. http://www.compassion-cures.org/

This is a tough time of year, and tough times period, to ask people to give money, so please know that positive thoughts and prayers are just as welcome as monetary donations... Either way, take a moment to read the story of Russ and Kim and what they've been through. It's a remarkable story of what faith can do to get you through dark times as this is unfortunately not their first go-round with cancer...

    Thanks,

    Paul

How ironic that you post this today. Out of the blue, I called Russ yesterday and left a message for him. I have not hear back yet. Thank you for the information on his wife. I was unaware of that and our most heartfelt prayers go out to the Erbe family. I will be donating Friday.

Russ Erbe is definitely on e of the top five nicest guys on the planet, and I would be honored to help. He has been very much a "giving" person since I've known him. Prayers to his family. Please help if you can.

Thank you guys for the kind words and the help. I've had to learn a good deal of humility through this, but I've also learned that there are some really great people in my life, and even strangers, and the words "Thank You" just don't get across how appreciative I am to everyone for their prayers, kind words, and help. My wife had many tests done all last week and another Liver Biopsy yesterday. We will find out results later this week as to where she stands. Again Thank You.

    Stack,
I'm probably not going to be able to be the photog of the Arenacross series this year unfortunately. I'm sure going to miss it I hope things are going well with you brother.

Thanks Stack!! Thank you to everyone else as well. We got news last night that is incredible. God has done amazing things in our lives. Several months ago her body was riddled with cancer, it was everywhere it could be and the doctors said that we needed to think about hospice. Her organs started shutting down and her lungs kept collapsing, so chemo had to stop. She was pretty close to dying. She fought through it and with the help of God her organs started working again. After about 3-4 weeks they brought her in for tests to see how bad it was and, what do you know, cancer was gone from her bones and brain, the two places that are the worst.

They started her on another round of chemo for about a month. She got tested last week and results were that all the cancer in her body is gone except for a little bit on her lung and liver. She is going to have surgery next week to cut those out and then will hopefully be cancer free this time next week!! If you don't believe in God, that should have you questioning yourself, because that is a straight up miricle crafted by his hands.
