Underground is doing the 99.00 weekend special for the opening round, and I believe the other tracks will follow as well. Or 35.00 per class.

I guess this is where i have to make my stand, $35 entry is highway robbery! and i guess if you or anybody else disagrees then i guess we are going to have to be like the NBA. Players wanting one thing owners not willing to bend.

I personally have three racers to pony up for and two of them will want to ride two classes each just to get enough time on the track, that is 5 classes $205 just to get in and enter the race $1435 to run that pace at 7 races over the next three months not including anything else......

I love your track Spanky as well as all the rest on your list but with all due respect I am out........ Unless somebody wants to sponsor an overweight slow guy and his boys.

35.00 is the norm. Some tracks will charge less, I-35MX will be charging 30 per class or 99.00 for the weekend special, I believe all tracks will have the 99 offer.

I hate to beat a dead horse so i will say my piece and then leave this chat board, as the little guy just doesn't get a voice.

The $99 weekend special is a great idea to attract people out to the track with the potential to save up to $21 bucks thanks for that but if you are not one of the 30- 50 racers that will be able to go out on Sat and stay overnight it is not a deal at all. To the majority of the people that will FILL your gates it is smoke and mirrors.

$35 is the "norm" agreed and so are empty gates

I heard a saying years ago that in its context applied to marriage but it applies to much more.

If you want what you once had do what you once did.

This is not a knock on any promoter or track cause you guys do a great job with the tracks and promoting. Spanky this series is great, the last time we ran it we had a blast, I love the list of tracks but you asked what it would take to get us on the gate and some people answered and a lot bashed and stirred the pot, me i just ask for a way to race and be a part of racing in or out of a series and do it at a attainable price. Now not everybody is like me and has a very tight budget for playing, but one thing i have learned in all my years is I am not that different from the masses so if this is why i cant make it to your races then how many people are in the same boat. I am thinking that most of the people on here that post will be out racing and enjoying tracks in our area at the current cost and not complain much but those people are already on your gates and not filling them up. What about the rest?

Bottom line is $1400 to race in this series will provide riding enjoyment for an entire year if we practice and race at Burleson.
Sorry to be a downer but in my little world of non national caliber riders and people just wanting to be a part of something more than just random racing and practice it makes all the sense in the world to lower prices and fill the gates. It just takes a leap of faith. Or what about have a registration fee to run the whole series and be eligible for overall awards and with that comes a discount on class fees and you could even just do it on the second class maybe half off with a $20 registration fee for the series. That could help offset the cost of awards (overall) and give a way to get the discount for those that want to chase the series. just a thought.
"If you build it they will come."
If you lower the price they WILL come.

I have said my piece and still to no avail so i will go back to chat board stalker mode and enjoy practicing with my boys.

If you are going into stalker mode, atleast pm me, you may have some good ideas here. I have an issue dropping prices even more when I've lost money at the last 2 races we've put on. One of those was only 25 per class, the gates were not large enough to cover anywhere near the difference. That's not to say there isn't a way to get it done...
Thanks for the input. Btw johnsonville is offering more discounts, working on the details...

Spanky, the race that the entry's were $25.00 was the Oklahoma state series and that is the norm in Oklahoma. The reason that the turn out was low was more of the people here don't like to drive that far and it was the last round and many didn't need to race it. I know it not that far, but to a lot it is.
I think you didn't get many Texas riders there was because of the $25.00 membership fee that they had to pay to race one race.

I will say that we will be there if I have the money. I don't know about other people, but my budget is pretty tight before Christmas!

    Happy Thanksgiving!!
