Riding out at village creek I noticed my header pipe getting so hot it's turning bright red. What gives. The only thing I noticed is I have a bunch of mud covering the front of my motor but what else causes that?

Heat. Running lean?
Junk
This is not unusual in the 4 strokes engines these days. You will see it much more in the late afternoon hours with lower light, but it's there all the time. If you really want to see it, run the bike at night in the dark. It's almost scary to see. If however you are seeing it during good daylight hours then you are running lean created generaly by a dirty carb or an air leak.

You don't stop riding because you get old...You get old because you stop riding!
Titanium glows at a lower temp then steel does, too....MXJunk can barely run a message board, it does not always mean the jetting is off !

The exhaust gas temps are only 1,100 degrees Fahrenheit.
Mine does this too I have a fmf megabomb header on my kx250f and that thing glows at night! 4 strokes just do that. like Paw Paw said you can see it in low light/dark situations and especially at night. it gets real bright red if you are just sitting there and should dim or not even glow once you start riding. at least that's what mine does. you just notice it more when you are sitting still because you aren't focusing on not busting ass haha
