    Default Buffalo Creek

never been before so i figured we would give it a go, i was betting on the track being awesome since its thier biggest event of the year...dont go with me to vegas...i can still see the dust 3 hours away..I appoligize if there is a water shortage out there, but if there is not...wow...got there at 9, left at 2:30...got to practice twice in that time...by the time the 85s went out the first time 75% of the track was hardpacked..the second time they went out, riders were getting watered...needless to say I am now home..as i will be tomorrow..flame away!

what happened to us? i dont know a lot about some riders on here but for the majority of you we grew up with this. late 70's and 80's at rio bravo, conroe, skeeter, swan, whitney was even hard pack and dry unless it rained the week or day of. man rio was like racing on hwy 59. i learned to ride and race in texas. hard pack and dry no whining everyone showed up and we had a ball. dont get me wrong i beleive in safety first and i like watered, prepped tracks, however if you have an event scheduled like BC's should have ran it and maybe dropped a lap or two off each moto. just sayn' go ride, race and stop pissing and moaning about a little dust, that is why it is called MOTOCROSS.

On another note the track owners should know what they have before an event like this in a perfect world they would be true. BUT there was a few mornings at milam creek at 1 and 2 AM when i was working my ass off with lights trying to get the pumps fixed or my tractor fixed with no luck and having to call practice at 3 or 4 AM. so give them the benefit of doubt. If you really think BC wanted this to go down like this just step back and think how this affects them, this is not what anyone wanted to happen. I know this had to be a hard call for the owner and i also know money was not the issue. just my 2 cents

As far as I know, the venue canceled, many racers pleaded to race, but in the end the decision was made on liability....just what I gathered...Someone correct me if I am wrong...

But Larry, look who is in office...Thats what happened to us.

Larry we would have been glad to stay and race. it would have been a dust bowl two moto's in but hell we were there and ready to go. We were never told anything by the track officials ever, i woke up and headed over to sign up and pay for my races. this is when i found the mob of pissed off racers. i never pay for my races til the morning of, simply because so much can happen (weather, bike failure, whatever...). apparentlly they also refunded some peoples practice money from saturday if so that was decent but assuming they were just refunding gate and race fees we packed up and left. i did get to practice saturday so i wasn't worried about that. i also know how much this will hurt BC. i've heard a few reasons it cancelled from broke trucks to simply no water i'm sure the truth will surface. what really sucks is all the people such as myself that hardly ever get off work. we do everything thing we can to make it out to your race event, weathers perfect then 24hrs later find out you just need to pack up and go home.
