Kurt , hope Cades recovery continues to go fast and complete. While I know it will be tough to walk away from our sport but our childrens health is far more important. And your Moto family will still be there for you.

Just thought I would throw out a quick update.

Cade is doing really well and is making a lot of progress. He was able to start back to school on Monday, but it did wear him out.

We are taking him back to the neurosurgeon this morning for his first follow-up visit after surgery and should have some idea about his rehab and/or therapy after that.

I want to thank everybody again for all of their phone calls, Emails, messages, and prayers.

As an aside, we only have two bikes left to sell and I just posted them in the For Sale section. The rest have gone quickly to our neighbors here in West Texas. If you are looking, here are the links:

I thought that I would make one more update for all of our friends, then I will probably not make any more posts and leave the space for those who are still recovering.

Cade continues to make remarkable progress in his recovery. His physical therapy continues, but his visits have decreased from 3 times a week to twice a week. Even the physical therapist is amazed by Cade's rebound from the type and severity of his injuries remarking that he usually is happy to see his patients doing as good as Cade is right now when they were finished with therapy and not used to seeing them doing this well before they even started.

Cade's neurosurgeon has even said that if his amazing progress and healing continues and he has great success in physical therapy, then he will consider releasing Cade to play baseball this summer! We will know the answer to that in mid-April.

Farther down the road, the two rods in Cade's back will probably have to come out because the orthopedic surgeon thinks that Cade still has the likelihood of growing another 6 to 8 inches in height before he tops out. Anybody wanna come help me feed this kid? All other hardware will remain in place. Any other activities for Cade to participate in totally hinge on how well and quickly the rest of his spine heals, as well as the area where all of the surgery and hardware are focused. Cade's spine was pretty beat up from his years of racing and while there is some expectation that he could heal up with time, there is no set date in the future where the doctors think this will happen. Obviously, the doctors will be following up on Cade for several years and we should routinely get a pretty thorough update at least once a year.

Again, I would like to thank everybody for their support, kind words, and most of all for their prayers. Cade is a walking miracle, of that I have no doubt.

I would also like to offer my understanding, support, and prayers to the other riders in this forum as they go through their healing and recoveries.

    Thank you, all.
