Default Whats up with you old fogies and your affinity for two strokes??

Technology has come a long way for a reason. My 2009 honda is so much better than my 2006. Why in the world would a two stroke be more fun than my 450?

First bike I ever bought was a 2000 yz250 in 2006. Fun Fun Fun, railing through the woods, feeling like I was going fast. But in reality, I sucked, especially on a motocross track. Fast forward to 2010, and Im pretty decent albiet Ive been riding 450s since I bought a "real" bike in 2006. I listen to the jibber jabber, oh smokers are so fun, yada yada yada. So me, thinking yall old bastards are right, I go and buy a 2010 yz250. Lets get the newest updated version, and supposedly the best 250 smoker out there. Is it fun?
Hell no. I get more arm pump than Ronnie Coleman jerking off to a bodybuilding porno. I go from being a decent over 30 A rider to a novice instantly. I nearly kill myself 100 times. No 300 times.

My 450 is no slouch, its got a worked motor and makes 62hp to the wheel. Im a big guy at 215lbs and I love my 450. So really, the question is, why in the hell would you want to buy some old technology, when these damn things have fuel injection and the big four putting all their efforts into making these bikes fast? 4 strokes killed our sport....says who? The slow guy with the old pre mix bike? I just dont get it. Maybe I havent spent enough time with my new bike.

That being said, I have a wonderfully new and mint 2010 yz250 with 7.3 hours on it for sale. I have all my stock parts too, even springs, and I'll throw in a skid plate and some sprockets. There has got to be some old man with a midlife crisis wanting to relive the old days....and save me from a bike I resent more and more with each passing day.....

If you decide that you are that disgusted with the bike to give it away let me know and I'll take the next day off and come get it. That is if the nursing home let's me out. I will also need to make sure I take my trifocals so I can see to drive.

+1 on the four strokes. I got back on a YZ250 after being on a 450 for a few years and no Thank You. Talk about sketchy....

I am old and fat and I suck on my 2 stroke, so I will become a MX god if I buy a 4 stroke!

I reckon with my AARP discount, cashing in a few war bonds I bought from Charles Lindbergh and selling my Matlock DVD box set, I might have enough to buy that contraption from you. How much?

If that's true then I'm going down right now and putting me a deposit on a fofiddy. Do they make one with an airbag system?

I bought a 2 stroke because it is cheaper to fix when it blows up.

I think Huff makes a good point. Us old schoolers grew up racing them so owning one is a bit of nostalgia. I have an 05 YZ125 that I freaking love and have a blast riding. I will never sell it but right now it hasn't been ridden since the spring. I still love looking at it and really love everything about it. I do still have a 450 though and always will.

Well for me, I feel like I rode both bikes pretty well. I just like the smoker because they are so much fun and they make you work. 4 and 2 strokes have their advantages and disadvantages, but it's all on preference. I rode my girl friends yz125 this past sunday and was putting down dang near the same times as I was on my 450.
