Default Press Release: Monster Energy Cernic's Kawasaki Finishes Season on the Montreal Podiu

    PRESS RELEASE
    10/6/2010

Monster Energy Cernic's Kawasaki Finishes Season on the Montreal Podium
Huntington, TX (October 6, 2010) - Monster Energy Cernic's Kawasaki riders Troy Adams and Josh Demuth rode strong at the Montreal Supercross in front of 40,000 fans. Despite leading most of the race Josh Demuth finished in sixth position after a late crash and Troy Adams came from the back of the pack to finish third.

Demuth started the MX1 class final in third and quickly found his way into the lead by lap four. Demuth led a pack of three American riders around the Montreal track as the lead battle was intense with Nick Wey and Jason Thomas. The three riders had a tremendous battle until Demuth eventually widened the gap towards the end of the race. However, a mistake with a little over a lap remaining caused him to go down and relinquish the race lead.

"I was feeling great tonight," explained Demuth. "The track was tight and it was tough to pass so I knew I had the advantage once I got out in front. The bike was hooking up great but then I made a couple of mistakes and threw the win away. I feel bad for the team because they've worked hard all year and supported me with everything."

Meanwhile, as Demuth was battling in the lead pack, Adams was working his way up from a bad start that saw him in twentieth position at the end of the first lap. He battled hard throughout the race and passed numerous riders to get into a top five position. After he worked his way into fourth position, Demuth went down to hand Adams his third place podium finish.

"My start hurt me tonight and I should have been up there with Josh," said Adams. "I actually felt really good and was able to charge through the pack. This wasn't the easiest track to make a pass but I knew I was better in the whoops section. I don't know how many guys I passed in the whoops but that is definitely where I made some ground up."

"Josh and Troy rode their hearts out tonight," commented team owner Billy Whitley. "But, that's what they've done all year and the team is very proud to have these two guys on the team. They went out and threw down the two fastest lap times and showed what this team is about. We wish this season wasn't over but we can't wait to start getting ready for next year."

The Montreal Supercross wraps up the Monster Energy Cernic's Kawasaki 2010 season where the team also competed in the CMRC Monster Energy Motocross Nationals. In addition to the Montreal Supercross podium finish, the team finished on the podium in five out of nine CMRC Monster Energy Motocross Nationals. The team would like to thank Monster Energy, Cernic's, Canadian Kawasaki Motors and all of the other team sponsors for supporting the team throughout the year. The Monster Energy Cernic's Kawasaki team is looking forward to competing for the CMRC Monster Energy Motocross Nationals championship next year.
