Oh no, we just saw him out practicing last week and he looked great even though he was a bit under the weather and riding his dad's bike at the time. We were hoping he was going to do well at Oakhill but I hadn't heard anything about him until this. What day did he go down?
Prayers for Dillon to have a full and expedited recovery with all his memory in tact. AMEN!
Last I heard a couple days ago was that Dillon is starting to do better, though he's still a ways off from where he was. There was talk of him progressing to outpatient rehab sooner than expected so things are looking up.
There will be bracelets available to help pay for medical costs and show support at the final round of the Full throttle series on Saturday at TMX. It would be great if everyone who has one already to make sure they wear it if you're coming out since from what I understand they are trying to get Dillon a pass for an hour to come out the track on Saturday and it would mean a lot for people to show their support.
Dillon is making progress and I was told today that he gets to go home tomorrow! He still has a long way to go.

Dillon had a great and a bad day... He was given the opportunity to meet Matt Lemoine, Blake and Tyler Wharton, Tommy and Will Hahn. He smiled, laughed and had a great time!!! He talked about it for hours. However, his blood pressure went up to 210/67 late this afternoon and started having pressure in his head. We ended up in the hospital and they did a ct scan to ensure there weren't any bleeds. We did get lucky and nothing showed on the scan. The dr. gave us some bp meds and he is now sleeping. Quite a scare...

Dillon's blood pressure is starting to regulate out. The doc said we can take him to Ponca for a day. We plan on being there on Tuesday. Thanks to Brian Cook, he is going to fly us up there and back so it isn't so long for Dill. He is very excited about going, just doesn't understand what it all means. I keep trying to explain to him that he will not ride, and he can just watch. I think he is getting it, but we won't know until that day actually comes. Thanks for the continued support!!

We made it to Ponca and home. Dillon enjoyed seeing the races and some of his racing buddies. He was pretty worn out yesterday when we got home and his blood pressure was pretty high. After resting, he has done well. Today we went for a 3 hour outpatient evaluation for rehab at the centre for neuro skills. From what I was told, he definitely will be in therapy for quite some time. The lady was concerned about what our insurance will cover, and I told her I would sell everything I have to make sure he had his therapy and not to plan his therapy around that. She kind of laughed, but I was serious!!!
Dillon can talk about motocross, rc cars and street bikes. There isn't much else for him other than that though. She asked him lots of questions that he didn't have answers to and it really frustrated him. He started crying at one point, so she walked out and he told me that he feels stupid and didn't want to be dumb anymore. I told him he wasn't stupid or dumb and that things would get better. I tried to explain to him that the therapy would help him, but he really doesn't understand.
He still has no true memory of life before the accident. He just has glimpses of who some people are and the specific surrounding of that moment with them. He doesn't remember his sister before she died. He looks at her picture and tells me he knows she is his sister, because that is what we tell him, but he tells me "I don't know who she is. I don't remember her at all." That is really tough for us. They were so close before she died, and now he has no memories of her.
If you see Dillon, if he doesn't say your name, please introduce yourself to him like it is the first time you have met him. For him it is. This helps him and keeps him from being so scared of people coming up to him.
We have a long road ahead of us, but we are truly thankful he is alive. Knowing the loss of a child is horrendous, healing one is a blessing.
