Panther Creek MX, LLC releases new information for “East/West Invitational”
New date and venue announced for second annual event

DENTON, Texas – Panther Creek MX, LLC, as the sanctioning body of the Texas Sunbelt Series, has changed both the date and location of the “East/West Invitational.” The second annual race will be held at TNT Raceway in Lubbock, Texas on Sunday, October 10.

The change came after deliberation between all parties involved. Based on certain logistics (most importantly, distance), it was mutually agreed to move the event further west to facilitate the greatest amount of participants. The date change was made to ease the cost for families with children returning to school, as well as accommodate families with plans for Labor Day weekend.

“Last year, the Invitational was held at Nocona in the east region,” said Michael Kasberg, president of Panther Creek MX, LLC. “This year, the Invitational is in the west region and we all believe it best to have it at the center of west Texas motocross. TNT Raceway in Lubbock is central for that area and very close for all our New Mexican families.”

TNT Raceway is located 15 miles east of Lubbock just off Highway 82. All fees and information can be found at www.211motocross.com.

Panther Creek MX, LLC is committed to producing quality events to all its customers and readily accepts input. Contact Michael Kasberg at michael@211motocross.com for any questions or concerns regarding the Invitational or Texas Sunbelt Series.

What do they mean by "new Mexican families"..
    referring to state or country...
    I am so stinking LOST.....
    Are we boycotting them too?

so do I head east or west on hwy 82 when leaving Sherman?
Will my GPS connection work west of Nocona?

I am so scared heading west, I have heard so many rumors pertaining to west Texas folks and their facilities that sounded a lot like the state to our NE boundary...

Just changed our plans for the weekend , we were going to ride the final round so we could maintain enough points ( we are in no danger of top five ) to make the shoot out and ride Spring Valley( our favorite track) one more time this Summer. Now with the change in plans heck we can ride TNT (our least favorite track) anytime. Plus having an Oct date... who's going to still be interested?

With all the other dates to consider, both east and west, the October date was the earliest we could schedule. The night series races run through August, and there are east side races running in September. We tried hard to stay off everyone's toes. Not saying we did completely, but we tried.

The race is at TNT because the crew there has more than 25 years of experience running races. The Invitational is a big deal to me, and I would not like it to fail because I am inexperienced. The crew at TNT runs races like a machine and will produce a quality event. I believe their property and staff is more capable of handling a large crowd (which I hope we have) than 211. I appreciate the fact you all want to race 211, but I want to leave this race to the experts.

Again, thanks to all for supporting the series whether you agree with the decisions or not.

Michael our family does support you and are grateful for the races/series you put together, but to say they (TNT) are more capable of putting on a race of that size...... The first race of the Sunbelt Series they had TWO flaggers , one at the finish , one on the bus jump. From some of the parents I've talked to if they try to pull that again they will have a walk out. 300 riders, full gates,1.5 mile track , TWO flaggers? 211 would have been a much better site, better staff, closer to New Mexico. And why wait till Oct why not first week of June while it's still fresh just a thought.

I half to agree . A rider went down in the dragons back looked around got hit and no flaggers present. We had to yell at 2 inividuals from the stands to look at whats going on. They couldnt get their from the finish line because of the traffic on the track. But an event like the sunbelt @ tnt you know their would be a good turnout and you look around and their is one flagger way over to the south on top of the bus jump. I know a lot of people was riled up that day but they pretty much kept it to theirselves and believe nothings going to be done anyway why bring it up. Come on really how many is going to come west anyway? So we try to move more north to get more attendance? Its tough . I just hope we have more than enough @ wtmx this weekend the track is good the weather looking awsome it can really use eveyones support. Its the final round of the sunbelt so bring it. You dont have to worry about traveling home on sunday night. Really what else would u rather be doing. Come sling some dirt and get in on the raffels its for a good cause.

I agree, the flaggers were an issue. That will not happen again. I have a great crew of flaggers at 211 that would be more than happy to travel to TNT for me. If TNT has an issue with flaggers again, I can easily fill those spots. I really care about my riders and you all know that, so trust that safety is number one.

The first weekend in June is the Freestone National. I would love to have it that early in the year, but it would be suicide to run on top of Freestone. I will say, next year I want to run the Sunbelt earlier and try to swing the Invitational at the end of May or the middle of June. You're correct in thinking our riders don't need to wait 3 months until the Invitational.

This is all a learning process and I appreciate all of your input. I will take them all into consideration when making next year's schedule.

Marty's right too - let's have a blowout race this weekend at Midland and have a great time. We'll be giving away tons of prizes, as well as raffling off the Motorex EZ up and paying big bucks to the pros. I'm excited, definitely.

Just a thought: what would you guys think about having a round-table discussion for next year's Sunbelt Saturday night? I'd be down for discussing scheduling ideas, prizes, locations, etc. All ideas for NEXT year, so I have time to make something happen. After all, I promote the series, but it's actually YOURS. You're the ones racing it.

    Default Shootout

Why not see if TNT can have the shootout the Sunday after the first night race? Ride Saturday night and Sunday as well...no school on Monday for those traveling.
