Track in El Paso?
Does anyone know if there is a track in El Paso?
-
The past couple of seasons at Tulie MX, some people have gone around the pits handing out flyers for a track in El Paso.
However, never intending to go there I didn't keep any of them or note the website.Sponsors: Gaerne, Motorex, Cycle Shack of Lubbock, DeCal Works, Twin Air, Renthal, Dunlop, O'Neal, TekBolt, Langston Motorsports, SMX Optics, Acerbis, Leatt, KSR Wheels, Gravett Racing of Beaumont, Inner Cooler, Kurt Copeland, CPA.

There is a track in El Paso on the east side called La Frontera Motocross Park. Just opened recently and are running practice on Tues., Thurs. at 4pm, and weekends. They are having a race April 25th. I got this info from the newspaper, and am going to check it out this weekend. I'll post after I go and let ya'll know how the track is. the address is 5461 O'leary Dr. El Paso, TX.

It is shady grove #2. Hard packed! but the owners seem to be willing to take rider input. It's more of an arenacross style track (way longer), all the berms are bowled out, there a quite a few doubles, a few whoops, a table, and a step up step down. Has potential, seems like the owners want to make it better, that just takes time. they are racing, have a concrete start, and a water truck. the only thing is that it is in the desert, and i don't know that they can do much work on the track unless a good rain comes in, the dirt will just make big clods. It is good for the kids though, because it is the only track within a couple of hours I believe, so at least they have a place to ride!

The LaFronteria track has been there for nearly 2 years now. It's 45 minutes from our house and that's all I have to say about that. B U T, if you go to www.xmotoball.com you will see the latest addition to our fine realestate out here in the REAL West part of Texas. This guy, Gabe, has the right vision and $$$$$ invested. Visit the site!
Another track in the works here in El Paso is planning a late April opening. It's being built inside the El Paso Speedwat Park. It will hold arena x racing on Sat. Nights and outdor track racing on Sunday day. Should be interesting. I will keep all of you posted. El Paso, TX. still the second safest city in the Nation with the most Violent city in the country a stones throw away. What's up with that ?

Guys the FMX La Frontera track didn't make it, they are closed now. The only other tracks in El Paso are the X-motoball track and the Wearden Racing Promotions track inside the Speedway. It looks like the X-motoball track is going to have plenty of potential once it takes off.
The Wearden track is actually a variation of three tracks a Motocross, Pee Wee and Enduro/Arena track with logs and tires.

Hey Loco38sup,
(i built this username just so I could reply to this forum)
The oleary track actually shut down?
And the xmotoball track sucks because they are only open sometimes, and they don't even tell you.
And what's up with that wearden track? I drove by it a few weeks ago, and it looked super small and not worth the
drive from the westside..... Let me know!!!???

The Oleary track shut down due to poor attendance. I was bummed out because this is where I was practicing...oh well.
The Wearden tracks inside the Speedway are Ok. The Arena-X track is very small and has alot of turns, check out the video. The Moto-X track is bigger and it includes the bridge, logs and tires. The place seems well organized with formal bathrooms which is great for the women.
The X-motoball track is a nice track but seems a little un-organized. They also don't tell you at what time the races start. I had to drive out there to find out...since I'm only 15 min. away it wasn't too bad. They do open up the track for general riding from time to time but without notice. You have to keep watching their website for updates. The action today was cool...see video.

Cool thanks for the info! I will have to add these to the track map, and get out there for some riding. La Frontera closed like two weeks after I added them to the map!

Hey Loco38sup,
Hey thanks for the videos!
Wow, that El Paso speedway track looks like a waste of time!
There isn't one jump on that track. I live on the west side so I'm glad I
didn't spend the money to drive there.
YA, the OLeary track was poorly maintained. The new owners never changed it.
But, Ya I've already ridden the Xmotoball track, and it was fun. But from the video
it looks like they set up the paintball course and it kinda looks like they lowered the whoops a little.
I rode the very first day they set it up!
But damn, I've never seen anybody ride as fast as that guy on the Suzuki in El Paso.
I've only seen people that fast in Colorado! That guy is CrAzY fast! 80
Thanks for the update, but I still wish there was another good place to ride here!
