No, but I did hear Brownlee Racing has some special holeshot awards for the vet classes!

At all rounds? Maybe I'll have to bring a bike out just for the start.
Well crap. I'm no Vet. Can I get a trophy for the sickest looking bike? I've really been pimping it out over the winter months. I'm afraid that's the only way I'll trophy.Originally Posted by kasberg187

You know, it must be a sight to see when you get called out on the STATEWIDE Texas Motocross Forum for totally blinging out your bike...Originally Posted by russerbe

On the 525, I knew I could always get the holeshot, I just worried about making that first corner. It never occured to me to get the holeshot and just forget the rest of the moto...

I was waiting for someone to bring that up. I didn't explain it right away because the story behind it is a long one, but here we go anyway. I'll shorten it as much as possible.
When I set the east side Sunbelt up with Audie (Nocona's promoter), we had promised Spanky (i35's promoter) a round in the series, as well as a permanent spot in the years to come. Spanky is a friend of ours and runs a tight ship with his races. Spanky and his family live in Denton and, at the time, ran a track just east of here in Texas.
The track in Texas was on land that they had leased. A couple weeks before the Sunbelt last year, the landowner breached contract, took the land back, and kicked Spanky off the property out of fear. Apparently, one of the land owner's buddies is a lawyer and told him if anyone crashed or got hurt, they could sue the bejesus out of him and take him for everything he was worth. So, Spanky was out of a track with zero notice and no options for a Sunbelt race.
This year, after Spanky had found a new home for a track, we agreed to live up to our word and give him the round of Sunbelt we had promised. Of course, Spanky and I talked about the future being uncertain since he is 5 miles into Oklahoma and this is technically a "Texas" series.
But, I keep promises and I don't throw people under the bus, so Spanky will be a round in the Texas Sunbelt Series this year. Next year stands uncertain.
Any other questions? I have nothing to hide.

Well, we're thinking about annexing that little piece of land just north of us anyway....so we'll see.
btw, you're first date for the "East dates:" posted above should say the "mar. 28 - i35" instead of "mar. 29" unless you're gonna race on Monday.
I35 may be across the river into OKlahoma but it is Texans who make up 90% of the traffic in the area. I have no problem with 135 be included in anything with a Texas title. Even though Spanky sold me a crappy pit bike![]()

East Fork changed their date?
