We at Txmotocross.com are proud to announce our newest feature, Txmotocross History. One of our moderators, Mr SG HOLESHOT MAG, was gracious enough to donate historical photos of Texas Motocross. These photos are part of his personal collection as well as images gathered from the friends and relatives of our past Tx Mx hero's. The history section will be modeled after our FOTW principals meaning new images will be posted frequently. We'll do our best to notify you of new additions but check frequently as we will be holding contest and give aways based on YOUR knowledge of the history of our sport in the great state of Texas. So please follow the MX History icon, www.txmotocross.com/history/history.php, on our main page and comment at will. Sneak peak:

The year 1973. The up and coming Kent Howerton chases down the Father of Texas Motocross, Wyman Priddy.

Special thanks to Shand Garcia, BERM - The Texas Motocross Chronicles, and the family/friends of our TxMotocross Legacies.

No problem Reemer - glad to offer up some cool stuff.... Pretty sweet deal on the home page - as Reemer said keep your eyes on the Texas History Pic's of the month link, as we will be doing some trivia with great prize giveaways.

Thanks Shand for sharing and thanks to the TXMX website for putting the section in. I love historical photos. That's a great shot too! I am a fan of the couch seat on the bike, btw. :D

Yeah, but that frame bar behind it could ruin your day.

I too am a fan of moto history (maybe since I was around to see it unfold). Thanks boys!

How about them socks folded over the top of the boots?

...and you think your boots are a bear to buckle. Those things would require a 10 min. break after you finally got them buttoned up.

Glad you guys enjoy the photo --- with thousands of old school TEXAS MOTOCROSS photos on hand....every photo has it's very own DISTINCT meaning. IMO - this is the photo that starts it all. Known as The Father of Texas Motocross & Mr. Holeshot, Wyman Priddy 27 yrs old, already had an AMA 500cc National win under his belt, was a little older, and was always chased and looked up to by the up-coming kids.... Kent Howerton 19 yrs old was fixing to race his 1st National, and 8 years later would sit on top of the Motocross world...beating up on Bob Hannah !

To me this pic paints the story of the beginning of Texas Motocross -- all the hot shoes that were coming up chased Wyman Priddy.

SMF -- My dad had some of those old school leather boots - and I use to stand in them - I could not buckle/lace them up.... your right those things required a 10 min break.

The history section can be considered one of my favorite parts of this site and it really offers something most people overlook.
Thanks for sharing SG!
