Did anyone hear Langstons comments about the track?

"...track built by a bunch of amateurs..."

What did all the riders think of the track as a whole?

REALLY?? he said that? when? wow what a dick. what the hell does he expect for a first year mx nat? there has to be some kind of learning curve for track builders right? man thats kind of changing my perspective of him . i kinda of always dug him and his determination. is it just a yamaha factory thing to bitch as much as him and #22 ?

yeah pretty abusive comments considering how he finished this weekend. i could understand if he finished 12th or some crap. well i'll say this.
i was standing on the roller after the finish shooting some close-up wide angle stuff. he rolled up after the first moto over that jump. for a track built by amateurs it sure took it out of him, he was beat feet. i like the guy but that does seem uncalled for.

yeah i was thinking that its kinda funny too that he had just won and was complaining. oh well tell em just to build it next time if hes so damn good at it. and maybe remind him that his bonus $ is gonna pretty much be all gone once #7 is back and healed. so he need to enjoy it now and quit bitching

That track looked better than most of the national tracks I watched on Speed. From a riders standpoint, I'd say it was a little narrow. I think they should be wide enough to race dune buggies on! From a spectators standpoint it wasnt so hot. Hopefully they'll add many bleachers all over the track, and do something about the P.A. system.

man i think the pa was kinda cool cause at least you could actually here what they were saying and if its to loud at least you can cut it with some ear plugs.

From what I know, been told, or have seen at other national tracks, Freestone isn't any more narrow than most other national tracks. The one line stuff comes from the timed practices and the track owners or the AMA can't put hay bales out like they used to during practice to create new lines. They are pros anyway, they can pass anywhere, haha.

his interview on motocross.com he said it would have been better if it was built by professionals and then went on to talk about the changes that they made saturday to clean up some of the problem areas. He actually praised the crew for being so responsive to complaints and requests.

go to motocross.com and watch his interview.

Actually, I heard his comments (via someone else) shortly after the final moto....I was hanging out in the Vintage Pits and "they" (the group of guys standing around talking) said that is what he said about the track. I didn't hear the context of Grant said it, but he said it. I'll ask the guy that heard him say it and find out the context of when it was said.

thanks again to all of you guys! just like Dr. Bodnar said, i would prolly be way better by monday and tuesday. although i sounded like a cougar sunday night and monday morning hahaha the stuff in my lungs was finally breaking up. i was weasing so loud it was annoying hahaha. but i started coming way around... i should be fine for this weekend!

Rock- ill hit ya up on the muffler packing!

Hutch- i know what your saying about working and trying to concentrate on the weekends event. but it didnt really bother me hahaha. i had a vision that i wanted my track to be like. and i needed to get out there saturday morning to get things as close back to what we had on friday before the rain! man it was soooooooooooo deep and loamy on friday before the rain wooooooooooo. it would have been really sick on saturday if we didnt get that lil shower. trying to recover for that lil rain kinda took away what we had! it all ended up turning out ok though! thanks for your input it means a lot to me.

i can only wait until next year! we are going to keep on making improvements all year starting now! i tell you what im friends with a lot of the racers and i believe they gave me an honest opinion. and everyone was pretty pumped. it was rough technical, and it did have some good lines. yeaaaaaaa there might have been a spot or 2 that got narrow. but it wasnt as narrow as some sections on other national tracks. i just didnt want to have this 30 foot wide track in places and we only ride 5 feet. thats useless to me. but it made for some great racing! cant wait to see it on tv! thanks again for everyones support, i know that im not the only privateer trying to make it! we all are doing good! cant wait till Glen Helen! wooooooooooooooo!

THANKS FOR EVERYTHING AGAIN!

the haybale thing is accurate. the ama used to put bales out to block lines and force the riders into new ones during practice, but in their infinite wisdom they changed that policy.

aahhh see what pu300 seems to make more sense than just a random statement like that. oh well it will come around next year for sure. i know that they had to have learned a ton from round one

I was there - what he said was "I think they need some professional track help" then said "this was the roughest track this year" and "they did good for the first year"

Well...so I guess what I heard was not only second hand information, but it was manipulated and a tad bit skewed. Screw me. That guy must not like Langston.

Thats a cool pic of that corner too.

The corner back by the cemetery, just before the big table, had two huge ruts going into it. It claimed several riders throughout the day. Wil Hahn was kind enough to leave his glove in it from his crash there. it was deep and rough.

The corner before the mechanics area was rough as hell too. it had a massive kicker/braking bump just before the entrance. it bucked riders all day long. It gave Hepler fits during practice, dont think i saw him hit the fast line once and he didnt look so happy about it. Grant and RV both had hairball moments there. yeah, amateur track... pfffft.

Every track is one lined isn't that the noral saying for everytrack since the beggining of time?

I rode that parade lap = and on teh parade lap there were so many lines it was crazy, trust me there were plenty of lines, ruts and berms... I know, cuz I was searching for the easiest ones !
