Sand Suspension settings

Thinking of Going to pure mx this weekend. Can you help me with sand suspension settings. Slow the rebound, decreased the compression etc????

I usually slide the forks down a little

Proper settings depends on correct setup, to begin with...Has you bike been revalved and sprung ? If so, call your tuner for advice. He should know best :)
