I call my blue drink Electric Lemonade but the only correct recipe I've seen for it in a bar called it Alaskan Iced Tea. Other Electric Lemonade recipes leave out the gin and rum, using only vodka to help the triple sec and blue curaco along.

Seeing as how this blue drink contains one more liquor than a long island, I think it's still in the same league. Whether it's harder or not depends on the overall alcohol content compared to the blue curaco alcohol content. Up to the mixer, really.

The other major drink of the night was the mojito:

In my head, that looks a lot more like an "Oh, man!" face than, uh ... damn. I can't think of an equivalent girly expression. I'm gonna need help here.

In any case, 11K's expression damn sure does not scream "sugar and spice and everything nice" or somesuch.

Ironically the contents of a mojito include sugar and mint (a spice). Whether Bacardi rum is nice or not, well that could go either way. There is a lot more Bacardi than there is sugar and mint.

I will admit that if I know enough about what I'm making and who it's for in advance, I tend to have a "mens" recipe and a "ladies" recipe since tastes do differ. Sometimes it affects color of the drink but only to a minor degree.

I didn't think I went that heavy on the lime, but I thought I went a little light on the rum on that pair for you and 320. But according to 320, there was still plenty of rum, and I at least meant to make them both about the same. Maybe you are more "man" than you give yourself credit for if you tasted lime over rum and it hit 320 rum over lime.

I hear ya, single malts are way too pricey for "session drinking". It's really not worth it if you are dilluting it, good ones should be sipped straight, maybe with a little ice.

I think some good middle of the road blends are J&B, or perhaps Cutty Sark. Now for a true session blend, there is a little scotch called Clan Mcgregor. The first drink is a little harsh, and seems to be square edged but becomes paletteable after that.

For $15.00 a 1.75, just how smooth can you expect it to be? :lol:

OK, I found a 4 string bass for $50 on craigslist so I bought it. Now to decide whether to keep it at home or over at 11k's where it won't be so lonely.

Of course I got no amp, stand, or even a bag or case. Might have some cables around here somewhere so maybe just a little adapter and Garage Band is all I need for playing at home. Guess I'll find out.

So when's the "real" VU State Champ party at 11k's going to be? I guess Shand's availability was the key missing element last time.

I only have a plain old xbox, so unless someone brings it, there won't be Guitar Hero or Rock Band.

The xbox is hacked to run other stuff, so if you want to play some old school EXCITE BIKE, well, I got that!

If ZERO shows up, I might have to instigate some Texas Holdem. I got several folding card tables.
