Based out of Houston, Texas, Texas Motocross Magazine, Inc was the first full-color gloss magazine that covered Texas Motocross. This magazine ran from 1971-1972 and paved the way for many other Texas motocross publications to follow........

First person to name the Rider and Track will receive a copy of "Berm - The Texas Motocross Chronicles"

Damn, that pile of black gumbo totally threw me off. It wasn't there or was covered up by 1974.

Yeah I figured the black soil would throw some off, but the rest you can clearly see is Mosier Valley.

I will throw up another photo and trivia here in a day or two.

Yep, that's facing west and the original starting line was just to the right and ran north towards the rr tracks and what eventually became the chimney. Looks like they were running the original layout clockwise, which John Talbot would do occasionally in the late 70's, early 80's.

Shand, do you have any pics from Armadillo MX in your archive? It was on County Line rd. on the east side of the 360 trails and ran opposite weekends of Mosier during 73-74. It was the first race track that I rode and after they closed many of us used it as a practice track up until the mid 80's. Unfortunately, the promoter was killed in a tractor accident so it didn't last long even though it was a great track.

Also, the first time I got ran over was at Armadillo by a kid on a Hodaka Super Rat.
